Vaccinations for Uganda and Rwanda

For travelling in Uganda you don't need to be top-fit. The trips between destinations and game drives are done in comfortable 4-wheel drive vehicles. Sometimes, a hike or a tracking on foot can be challenging. If you want to do that, you need to be able to walk well.

Which vaccinations do I need?

For vaccinations etc. we refer you to the healthcare authorities in your country. We have no competence to advise you properly in these matters. We know from experience, though, that you need vaccinations for diphteria, tetanus and poliomyelitis. Malaria is present in most of Africa. Your house doctor or medical service will provide you with the necessary prophylaxis.

Most injections need to be taken minimally one month before departure.
Malaria pills usually need to be taken before, during and afther the journey.
Don't forget to bring your medical passport.

Never drink water from the tap, not even for brushing your teeth etc. Bottled drinking water is available almost anywhere.
